Heat pumps and running costs

An air-to-air heat pump moves heat rather than burning gas. Used room by room, that is usually cheaper than heating the whole house with electric panel heaters.

You get around three to four units of heat for every unit of electricity. That is the point of a heat pump, and it is why the same indoor unit can warm a room in January.

Cooling in summer is the same machine working in reverse. You are not paying for a second system.
