The Boiler Upgrade Scheme

A government grant towards a heat pump

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a government scheme that helps property owners in England and Wales replace eligible existing heating systems with low-carbon heating. Since 2026, the scheme also covers eligible air-to-air heat pumps, with a grant of £2,500. It is administered by Ofgem.

Approved installs need to complete within 120 days. Brisk handles the application so you do not have to deal with the paperwork.

How Brisk Handles It

You don't have to deal with the paperwork

  1. Check

We check whether your property and proposed system meet the scheme requirements.

  2. Apply

If you're eligible, Brisk applies for the grant through the scheme on your behalf.

  3. Confirm

Ofgem contacts you to confirm that you agree to the installer applying on your behalf.

  4. Save

The £2,500 grant is deducted from your installation price, rather than you paying the full amount and claiming it back later.
